Kelly Flood, PSC
Patient Service Coordinator
Kelly Flood is originally from Columbus, OH and attended Capital University Nursing School. Kelly was a stay-at-home mother of two for 15 years. In 2012, she began working for National Church Residences where she implemented activities for patients with mid-to-end stage dementia and Alzheimer’s. It was here that Kelly witnessed a direct correlation between hearing, brain health and quality of life. Some of her patients had completely ceased to communicate verbally. They would sit in the same chairs every day and not communicate with anyone around them. However, when they were given headsets that played music from their past they began singing lyrics to old songs, playing musical instruments and sharing long ago memorials with those around them. The music had stimulated their memories through their hearing. When the music stopped, the patients completely disengaged again and sat quiet and emotionless.
In 2015, Kelly began working for American Ear Hearing & Audiology. She was drawn to this profession because she is a patient advocate that feels strongly about creating optimal hearing health in people with less-than-optimal hearing.
When Kelly is not working, she enjoys reading, gardening, and visiting family and friends.
